MOUSELING.net
Welcome!
Hello there!! You've reached Mousecky's homepage. It must have been a long journey! Sit wherever you'd like! This is V3 of the site, unveiled the 9th of May 2025.
I'm a mouse on the Internet. My big passions are Visual Kei and playing with websites such as this one... as well as 70s~80s anime and looking at pictures of rodents and other small animals. I like to collect things and put them on display, for both myself and others, and that's part of why this site exists.
MOUSELING.net is dedicated to my ramblings and personal opinions, my hobbies and interests, my art, and some things I just find interesting. There's always more on the way but I think I've managed an alright amount of stuff here, so feel free to poke around!
This site is not mobile unfriendly, but I make no optimisations for mobile. It's half-responsive, but not well tested.
If you have anything to say, please say it! You have E-mail, my guestbook, my chat-box... if you want to privately and anonymousely say something, you even have my webclap in the sidebar (please send me a round of applause if you like my site!) which has a message feature. If you'd like me to reply to one of those I'll have to do it publicly though.

Pure CSS to distinguish out-links from in-links
2025-08-09
Here's a fun problem I came across some time ago, while designing my site cattle mutilation: I wanted to distinguish out-links from in-links visually... without manually adding a new class to all my out-links... without any nasty JavaScript involved. There was always the option of just using JS, linking a little script in the header of all my pages and calling it a day, but I was steadfast on the aesthetics being immediate and without such bloat.
So, intent on doing everything I could to make this happen, I took to Google. I asked it: How do you make an outlink styled differently? That didn't lead to much that was relevant. Eventually, I discovered something wonderful which I didn't know I was already using: CSS pseudo-classes. Furthermore, I discovered a new type of selector to go with class and ID selectors, the humble attribute selector.

Song of the month!
neuron - connichiwa
I can't really exaggerate how much I love neuron's music. It's the alternate side of the Shinjuku Gewalt members and it's such a tasty little project that I want to devour whole and my only wish is that they had more tracks under their belt as Neuron.
Connichiwa makes me ridiculously emotional no matter the time of day. The almost panicked instrumental combined with the heavy vocoder on the vocals, and the way it builds up... too amazing.
It also feels like like something you'd hear in a dream and then never be able to fully recall.
Check out the song of the month archive for past features.
