Welcome to MOUSELING.net!
MOUSELING.net is dedicated to my ramblings and personal opinions, my hobbies and interests, my art, and some things I just find interesting. There's always more on the way, so feel free to poke around!
This site is not mobile unfriendly, but I make no optimisations for mobile. It's half-responsive, but not well tested.
Latest update...
and with it a new article: There really are right and wrong ways to use HTML.
A fix to Number-kun's page.
blue forest dark of memory
I'm very very foolish.
Friday night I rang my girlfriend, drank a bottle of watermelon flavour soju, and swore at people via online chess. I was miffed when I read the label on the back of the bottle and saw that the stuff I was drinking was something like 11% alcohol. I was under the assumption that it was 13.5%, according to my local liquor store's website.
Yesterday night: I rang my girlfriend, drank a bottle of tropical flavour soju, and apologised a thousand times because I had no idea why I was so drunk. I wasn't that bad yesterday, after all. I spun the bottle around and read the label: 13.5%.
...Ah.

There really are right and wrong ways to use HTML
2026-03-23
There is no incorrect way to use HTML. If it looks fine, the code doesn't matter!
This is one statement I've heard variations of thrown around a lot. Too much. Far too many times, in fact. I really understand the spirit—website-making is an art form, especially for us hobbyists. When creating visual art, there are several ways to construct a face or body, and lots of them can produce wonderful characters or equally realistic artworks. In visual art, there is no one "right way" to produce an image.
HTML differs from visual art in one crucial way, however. HTML encodes meaning, not the actual presentation. When you write HTML code, you tell the browser: THIS is a heading, THIS is a paragraph, and THIS is a link that leads to that Web page.
HTML and CSS are computer languages. HTML is made to be rendered by a browser program, using instructions given by CSS for easy visual styling. The standards for these documents exist as a formal specification that defines exactly what each element means and what can be done to it.
You might say, I didn't agree to follow these standards! There's nobody making me follow them! And that's true! There is no HTML Validity Police. But you did agree in a way: when you used <!DOCTYPE html> at the start of your Web page, you made a promise to follow the standards.

Sheoldred - EP 1
2026.02.15
Sheoldred is a new project that I know nothing about, other than the fact that they're a Magic the Gathering themed band. This would usually turn me away as I dislike trading card games, but I really enjoy Dex's solo project that same street, so I decided to give it a chance considering he markets this one as screamo too.

Song of the month!
HONDALADY - Cassettable
HONDALADY are a duo who have been torturing me for some time now. They have all sorts of inspirations, and they make all sorts of music spanning all sorts of sounds... what I really love is that they will always spam amen breaks even in the cute and perfect pop songs like this one.
Their big secret, though: They are a Nerdcore Techno unit wearing the skin of pop musicians who happen to like Uchoten. Those who know me will know my love for Nerdcore Techno, so HONDALADY were bound to poison me. Also, they remixed some No More Heroes stuff, and that's pretty cool... ;-)
