MOUSELING.net

Welcome to MOUSELING.net!

MOUSELING.net is dedicated to my ramblings and personal opinions, my hobbies and interests, my art, and some things I just find interesting. There's always more on the way, so feel free to poke around!

This site is not mobile unfriendly, but I make no optimisations for mobile. It's half-responsive, but not well tested.

Happy Valentine's day!
Four new icons; they're actually old though—I rescued them from my old blog. I also worked hard to reorganise absolutely everything..
Also, an addition to the media log: Tokyo Gore Police!
The media log now has its own section on the homepage, too. :-)

blue forest dark of memory

It is so gloomy that the crows don't even want to play.

It is so gloomy that the crows don't even want to play.

I went out to buy microfiber cloths (which I spent a long time deciding on just to buy the home brand), and as a bonus, scored a nice bag large enough to hold even my 14-inch iBook with much room to spare for only $5!

I plan on getting a nice shoulder strap for the bag and affixing lots of pins and keychains and so on to it in the future. Maybe I could even put my fabric paint to use... I don't trust in the quality of the material, but if things break, it's simply my job to repair it. ;-)

じゃあね... I'll spend tonight drinking with my girlfriend! After all, it's Valentine's.

Portable applications are more useful than you think

2026-02-11

If you move around computers a lot, whether it be for school or work or personal reasons, you probably have a USB with some spare storage to keep various important files on. This assumes, of course, that every computer you interact with has the programs you need to use. Often they will; sometimes they won't.

When it comes to persistent projects using the same application on various different PCs, some people will find Puppy Linux—a type of Linux distribution contained entirely on a USB, designed with portability in mind—the way to go. But what if you are used to working in a Windows environment, or the computers you work with don't allow you to mess with their boot order?

This is how I discovered the value in portable installations.

Tokyo Gore Police

2026.02.14

Tokyo Gore Police was one of my favourite movies before and after I dropped out of high school. I would watch it over and over and over again, as one of the few things I had downloaded. It's pure tokusatsu battle madness and, as the title suggests, full of gorey scenes with unrealistic blood spraying everywhere. Last night, I rewatched it for the first time in at least a year with my girlfriend.

01.29 - KILL KILL MAIM! Geba-chan and the Aten
The Aten is a genderless Egyptian god who is the essence of the sun and is the sun itself, who created and takes care of all things, who does not have a corporeal form. I can’t explain myself, but it reminds me of Geba-chan. Drawn in class.

pouch.jpg
A little pouch I made by cutting the end of an old sleeve and sewing the cut side shut. It holds my various USBs! I think it's cute and practical. I simply tie it with a loose ribbon; I plan on adding a couple of buttons later.

Song of the month!

五人一首 - 赤い記憶

Mousecky? Posting prog? Is he having a stroke? No! He's been charmed by the lovely band Gonin-Ish, who once had a Dagashi Kashi member among their ranks.

This song seriously blew me away.

Check out the song of the month archive for past features.
