A list of important things

icon

I have kept this list of important things close to my chest and (relatively) the same since 2024.09.16; I have altered it. I originally wrote it while listening to Teruo Nakano.

Rodents

This one is probably obvious. Rodents are my favourite type of animal. All of them are dear to me; all of them are my friends; all of them are my brothers; I relate to them the most. The one I identify with most is the noble rouse and its brother the rat, and my favourite is the humble viscacha.

Tokusatsu

A medium that means a lot to me. My childhood had Power Rangers and Godzilla in the background, my late school life hinged on Kamen Rider Ryuki, now I sit comfortably watching the original Ultraman and live well from there.

Web-dev

I like making websites. A lot. Too much. I own many websites, as you might already know, and it truly is my one everlasting hobby. For as long as businesses are buying server space, a person could buy that space too. Long live the Web.

Reading

Something I don't do enough of, yet I become obsessed when I do get around to it. Lately I've been trying, and failing, to get through Yukio Mishima's Sea of Fertility.

MegaTen

Throughout the entirety of high school, from 11 when I entered to 16 when I dropped out, this series was my entire life. The art has had a massive effect on my tastes, the characters have affected the way I think about people, the demons themselves have irreversibly altered my sense of sexuality.

My favourite game is Raidou Kuzunoha vs. the Soulless Army—I think it even gave me my thing for the Taisho era.

Crafts

I enjoy making things, and you should too! Anything to keep my hands busy is good, welcome even, and especially if it results in something real that I can like.

OCs

I love my characters to pieces. My daughter Pessy turns three years old soon.

Love

If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing.

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. For we know in part and we prophesy in part, but when completeness comes, what is in part disappears. 11 When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put the ways of childhood behind me. 12 For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.

13 And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.

Visual-kei

I found my taste in music and aesthetics due to Visual Kei artists. I cannot thank them enough, even though it is not Visual Kei in particular that I am fanatical over anymore. My entire life is in the footsteps of Visual Kei artists.

Friends

I am nothing without the people I know and love!

Cartoons

I like classic cartoons. A lot. Tex Avery and Chuck Jones are the best. Marvin the Martian is my favourite Looney Tunes character, by the way.

Collection

I like to collect things. Digitally, physically, spiritually. For me, living is collecting all of the lovely things in the world and making them my own.

Also the name of an Uchoten song. Pretty cool.

Gunpla

I no longer engage in this hobby because my wallet is destroyed but Gundam is an amazing series with amazing designs and, just as with Crafts, being able to make things with my hands is so very lovely.

J-fashion

I am an Angeler, I admire Lolitas, and I love all things J-fashion. There is no point to life without such cool styles and subcultures, although the "subculture" part is lacking these days.

Art

I have been drawing for as long as I can remember. To produce new things is my reason for living. To leave an impression on other people is my secondary goal, and so I try in every way possible, such as this very website. Art is lovely.

DIY

If you wish to make something yourself, there is no reason not to attempt it. You can at least make things appeal more to your aesthetic sensibilities—and you will thank yourself when you do!

Writing

I don't really do this in sense I originally meant it anymore. But writing anything, as long as there are words, is great. Self-expression, essays, articles & recounts are great.

FKMT

Akagi and Kaiji were my reasons for living once upon a time.

Cafés

It is lovely to sit around and drink tea (I'm not a coffee person...) and eat some good food. Double as lovely with a friend.

Piercings

At my peak, I had 13 piercings. I now have only 4 to 6 depending on the day: 2 in my right ear, 1 in my left, 1 in my navel(!) and optionally two in my lip. I thought they were cool.

Trains

Trains take me from my town to the city. I rely on them; they are also pleasing to ride on, and to see the difference between. I enjoy when freight trains pass me too.

Walks

If I could not go on walks, four hour long walks in the middle of the night, I would kill myself. There is no other way for me to expel my energy.

Kitaro

GeGeGe no Kitaro used to be my absolute favourite manga. It makes me laugh and it makes me weep!

Concerts

I used to be big on going to local gigs. Now all the bands I like are in another country.

Wii

I grew up with this thing and Rhythm Heaven Fever gets addicting. I guess it's Rhythm Paradise Fever for me.

Dreamcast

It's freaking cool, yo.

Study

I actually hate studying in the traditional sense, but it is still important. To not actively learn is a death sentence in my eyes.

RPGMaker

I grew up with games like The Crooked Man, Ao Oni and OFF. I also grew up with a copy of VX Ace. I spent a long time dreaming of making my own game; I never really did.

PuyoPuyo

Ages 11 to 14, this game series was huge to me. Since then, I've always returned to it just to play around... I main Klug. This surprises people, but really it couldn't make more sense.

Sleep

Good sleep allows your body to rest, your mind to regenerate, and your energy to come back to you. You actually burn many calories at rest.

Calls

God, if I didn't get to call people, I would die. Some of my best friends are across the world. My sister lives across the country. I am grateful for all the talking to people I can do from the comfort of my own home.

maimai

I quit this game due to its being a money sink. It's still one of my favourite things evar.

Comics

They're really fun. What more can I say?

Language

Linguistics is a lovely thing. I almost studied it like three times but always chickened out...

Blogging

I don't really do this anymore. Still, hello!

Conventions!

The number-one place to have fun with my friends! I get an excuse to cosplay, meet new people, spend too much on food and get exceptionally drunk. I'm trying to singlehandedly revive cosplaying bandomen.
