Last week I had two fun things on: I saw the Sex Pistols with Frank Carter and I went to Supanova down in the Gold Coast. I wore myself out!

I think I had the best time of my life at the Sex Pistols concert. I love to get rowdy. I felt a bit sick beforehand but that's no reason not to go... before the opening band showed I ended up with a drunk rambling to me about his dead sister and how everyone around us were plebian scum because they were using their phones. Sure, man. He absolutely stunk of alcohol LOL to be quite honest it was hard to take him seriously.

The opening band were fine but a bit...boring lol. Like, I've heard it all before. I'm not sure what they were going for. They were OK though.

...but then they left, and eventually, the Sex Pistols showed! HOORAY! The moment they started playing, everyone actually started moving, and before I knew it... I was up front near the barrier?!

I wasn't front row, but that was too good to give up, even if Frank Carter jumped into the pit himself. God, I wish I got to mosh though. Moshing is the best feeling in the world. And a couple of songs later, I was seriously at the front! Front and centre! Probably the best spot I could have gotten!!

I was so full of energy the entire time... I just loved it. I'm out of words to report because I didn't have a friend to banter with and I was too tired coming out of it.

The real important part is what happened after they were over and done with the encore: Frank Carter locked eyes with me and made sure I knew he was throwing me the setlist. Score! I died on the spot!

...and THEN I got Cookie's drumsticks, handed to me by the beefy Islander security guard in front of me. What the fuck?! What did I do to deserve this!!!!

The setlist and drunmsticks! They're mine!
My loot...

Then I had some days to recharge, and then I had Supanova down at the Gold Coast on Saturday. Phenomenal!

I woke up nice and early at 5 in the morning. Maybe "nice" is not the word to use, because I felt like I was going to die at any second, but I pulled through~ ha ha.

I got showered, did my makeup, hauled on my cosplay. This won't mean anything to anyone but me, but I very deliberately wore my red DEVO shirt underneath my gakuran. Toda likes DEVO after all!

My cosplay was Hiromu Toda (in Shinjuku Gewalt)--something that would be easy thanks to the gakuran I bought forever ago for a failed kigging project--as a rabbit. Why as a rabbit? Well, I've been drawing him as one for years. Why not give him rabbit ears? As such, I had "usagi" (rabbit) written on my helmet instead of "Anti-Communism", LOL. I plan on repainting it for future cosplays, because I want to become regular Toda too.

The helmet was actually a replica WW2 US helmet I got off AliExpress. Some accuracy I've got... a US helmet! For a Japanese man! How terrible! But it had the right shape and I couldn't find anything better. I took to my black spray paint and white paint markers from Kmart. I'm mad they didn't evem ID me while I was buying the spray paint...

The towel was just one that I used an old fabric marker on and safety pinned around my neck whatever works, right??

But I'm sure you don't want to just hear me talk about the cos... have some photos. The only thing is: I took off the ears because I was so stuffy and I already had reduced hearing!!! There goes my reasoning to have "usagi" written!!!!

I originally took this photo to be corny but it's become my favourite out of everything. Dude, fuck yes.
Cheki!! Second with my friend Ryuko, who was cosing Rainbow Dash. The contrast was too good not to get a piccy of.

I left the house at 6:20 in the morning... to get to my friend's house at 8:15 and get to the con at around opening time, which was at 10. I was dying! But I crawled out alive!

On the train to said friend's house a dude froze right after boarding and stammered, "Y-you look... incredible." I was listening to music, so I took out an earphone and asked him to repeat himeslf (I really didn't realise the words until he repeated himself, I wasn't being mean.) I think he was turned off by my male voice though he paused, rushed to say it again, and hurried right past me after I spoke. Well, I never thought soemthing like that would happen to me...

We went to Maccas before heading to the main. I was the only one to order any food... but that wasn't a good idea lol. My stomach was extremely angry at me for the next hour or so... I don't think the chai latte helped

I almost died of heat exhaustin really quickly. I had to shed my jacket and ears for a while; the ears never returned. What a pity! I did recover, though, and spent my day as cute cute Toda-san.

We wandered the artist's alley and the stalls. I mean, what else is there for me to do at such an event? None of the programming really appealed, and I'm not into any big name celebrities...... sigh.

Bring Visual Kei to Australia, that's my request.

I snagged volumes 2 and 3 of The Drifting Classroom by Kazuo Umezz for only $75 together. "Buy one get one half price" is insane! Lovely hardcover books, which mark another Umezz collection complete. Next to Nekome-Kozou now it looks like I really care about this guy! Which is what I want to convey!!

I had a lovely time with my friends. We dicked around forever after the fact too. A nice day and a tiring day. We listened to Brony mixtape CDs (I'm not a Brony but my friends all are! Save me! Only kidding.) and then Paramore CDs once we ran out of those.

Scooter from the bushes. I hadn't ridden one in probably 10 years before this video was taken, thereby embarrassing myself.
