Artist questionnaire

With thanks to Lillen from zdiskuss, an art platform which you all should join if you're an artist too,

Name:
MOUSEcky
Favorite kind of art to make:
Traditional art, of characters. And colourful when I colour it, with fun hair shines. I really love my cheap markers.
Digital or traditional art?
Traditional art FTW!
Art school or self-taught?
Self taught FTW!
Realism or stylized art?
Definitely stylised.
Characters or landscapes?
Characters :-)
Favorite colors:
Blue and red. But all characters are amazing. I tend towards warm colours though: orange, pink and yellow, and warmer shades of blue, they're the best together...
Themes or subjects in your art:
Bandomen? Ha ha, I have no idea, other than characters in voids and possibly in situations.
Favorite art movements:
Not an art movement but I'll always love Showa manga.
Artists who inspire you:
Mimizupaw;
Osamu Tezuka;
a certain user from now-defunct service Drawr;
whoever Dagashi Kashi commissions for their album art;
Kazuo Umezz;
my acquaintance Squee Geek;
Shigeru Mizuki.
Movies, tv, games, music, or books that inspire you:
Picopico musicians and their inspirations (that being the works of Susumu Hirasawa and those related to him) happen to my main inspirations, not just in art, but in the way I live my life. Manga by Kazuo Umezz have also contributed greatly to my worldview and way of thinking, and without crappy J-dramas such as Hana Kimi, I wouldn't survive!
Do you have OCs? Share your favorites.
I affectionately call my character Pessy my daughter. She's a stuffed toy who came to life and believes she's destined to save the world. I also like Mecha Panda.
Your biggest art strengths:
My faces and my colouring. General expressiveness.
Your biggest art weakness:
Scenes of any kind; a lot of character interaction; consistency!
Proudest art achievements:
Strangers loving my pieces even without the context of who the characters/people are.
The hardest thing about being an artist:
Consistently thinking of new things to draw, to be honest.
The people who love and support your art:
Are all lovely! And usually dear friends.
Do you sell your art or take commissions?
I do in fact! Commissions are fun. I got paid once just to draw Tadahiko Yokogawa :-)
Art Advice for your younger self:
Stop drawing like artists you see on social media and copy Leiji Matsumoto or some other Showa mangaka already!!!
